Project GR4 was an art installation located in Paul Watkins Gallery on the Winona State University Campus.
The idea was to develop a car concept and turn that concept into a mosaic, though with a twist. I created fifteen custom grunge t-shirts that featured actual car parts. If these shirts were folded into a 7×7” square and placed together they would recreate the actual car design, but with only car parts.
The GR4 was inspired by the world of rallying with a mid-engine, compact design. It has a short wheelbase and four-wheel drive. The body was designed around an organic structure. My goal was to make the car seem like it was a living creature, not a machine.
