WeldBook is a rugged field notebook for welders. Embedded inside the front cover is a piece of welding glass that protects inspector’s eyes while they are observing a welder weld. At the time the notebook was in its rough development stages.
The client wanted an industrial look to the logo with a blue theme. It had to simplistic and look “heavy,” as if it were cut from a sheet of metal.
This logo had its constraints. The notebook it would be placed on had little room for a logo as the welding glass took up most of the surface area. So, I knew I wanted a word mark logo, but still give the design a sleek industrial feel. The final logo allows for it to be placed at the top or the bottom of the notebook, but still have breathing space around it.
